I can’t get enough of these cute cherry chocolate mice that my Mom made this year! She saw the idea on TV and then put her own spin on it to make them even cuter
My Mom is so stinkin’ cute and creative! On the card it says “Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse” They are almost too cute to eat…. almost.
1 bag chocolate chips
1-2 tsp. shortening
Maraschino cherries, WITH stems (these are a little hard to find, but they are a must!)
Hershey’s chocolate kisses
Unsalted peanuts, halved
Red-hots or tiny cinnamon candy
In the microwave or over the stove, melt the chocolate chips and shortening together. Stir until smooth. Holding a cherry by its stem, dip it into the chocolate and then press a chocolate kiss onto the cherry. Wedge peanut halves between the cherry and chocolate kiss to make the ears. Place this on wax paper until chocolate dries. Add a couple dots of white frosting for eyes, then put a little melted chocolate on a red-hot and place on the end of the kiss to make the nose. That’s it!

These are adorable! If anyone is having a hard time finding the cherries with stems, Sam’s Club sells large jars of them.
Those are cute. Now, if you could just remind me about them next year when I need to come up with ideas for neighborhood Christmas treats….
These were so adorable!I thought a little harder to make than it looks….but they turned out great! Thanks for the recipe!!!
