Devin’s Hawaiian Juicy Lucy’s

Juicy Lucy'sMy brother called me the other day telling me that he had just created the best hamburger he has ever had. He was so excited about it, he took a picture and everything. I must say, I was very impressed with both his grilling skills and his picture. Don’t these Hawaiian Juicy Lucy Burgers look delicious?! It looks like this picture was taken in a diner somewhere. He said he made this recipe as a combination of our Big Kahuna Sandwiches and our Joosie Loosie recipe. YUM! Personally, I can’t wait to try this! According to Devin, this recipe makes 2 BIG burgers.

Devin’s Hawaiian Juicy Lucy’s

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lb ground beef
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • salt & pepper, to taste
  • Velveeta cheese
  • 2 pineapple slices, grilled
  • 2 slices Swiss cheese
  • 2-4 slices deli ham, grilled
  • lettuce
  • 2 large hamburger buns

Instructions

  • Combine beef, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper in a bowl. Separate into 4 parts and flatten out into thin patties. Place some Velveeta cheese (we loaded the cheese on) on top of 2 of the patties and then cover with the 2 remaining patties. Press the edges of the patties to form a tight seal (you don't want the cheese oozing out before you bite into it). Grill or cook in a pan for a few minutes on each side-- just like you would grill/cook any other burger. AGAIN, be very careful grilling.. you don't want the cheese to start coming out. When burger is done, add grilled pineapple and cover with Swiss cheese. When cheese starts melting, add ham. Create your burger by placing the burger on the bun, adding lettuce and any other toppings/condiments you like, and top with remaining bun.

Looks ABSOLUTELY divine! I just might have to go off my diet for this one. Have you ever added an egg with the yolk runny? It's super yummy on a cheeseburger!

  2. Seriously awesome looking! I'm not sure how one gets their mouth around that, but I think it would be worth the try :)

  3. How do you EAT that? That's a serious burger-I love it!

I've been experimenting w/ burgers, & I almost made that exact same burger. Cheese in the middle, grilled pineapple. I marinated mine in brown sugar & grilled them along w/ the burger. They were incredible. =)
