All you soda drinkers out there are going to LOVE this recipe for Swig’s Raspberry Dream (Dirty Soda)! This popular drive-by drink shop is famous for unique soda creations and is practically a staple in Utah. We love making our own versions of our favorite drinks at home with sodas and a variety of syrups and flavors. This dream beverage is a popular one at Swig and we just had to make a copycat of it for us to make at home! It literally is sodalicious-ly good and everything you can dream of while laying back and enjoying this Swig drink from home.

Ingredients in Swig’s Raspberry Dream (Dirty Soda)

Make the best drink you have ever had with this copycat Swig raspberry dream recipe. Your tastebuds will be thanking you and your smile won’t be able to go away. It is that good! Friends will be wondering what you are drinking and want to know this recipe too!

  • Dr. Pepper – Fill it up! Dr. Pepper is filled will so many variations of flavors and has a unique taste that everyone loves. Get Dr. Pepper that you know and love. There is a variety of DP’s at the store to choose from.
  • Raspberries – Yes! This is like a chocolate and strawberry combination but with Dr. Pepper and raspberries. These raspberries are going to give that sweet and fruity flavor to this raspberry dream drink.
  • Sugar – Just a little to balance out the sweetness in the drink.
  • Half and half – Here comes the creaminess that tones down the fruit but also leaves you thinking it is an Italian soda.
  • Coconut extract or coconut syrup – Bring the beach, tropics, and smells all in one drink! This gives you a beach babe feeling all day long.
  • Ice – You need ice to keep it cold and to make sure that we don’t just drink all of our calories away. The pebble ice is always fun but it can also be straight out of the freezer.

What is Dirty Soda?

A classic dirty soda recipe is simply your favorite soda, with added cream and flavored syrups or fruit juices. It’s also considered a “mocktail” or a non-alcoholic drink with add-ins, usually cream and syrups, blended fruits or fruit juices. An original “dirty soda” could be considered an ice cream float or root beer float, which is made with ice cream and root beer. The same principle applies to any dirty soda recipe. And the flavor possibilities are endless!

Types of Soda to use for Swig’s Raspberry Dream

This recipe can be made with your favorite Dr. Pepper variety. I love using Dr. Pepper Zero or Diet Dr. Pepper, but you can use any other cola drinks too! Pepsi, Coca-cola, Diet Coke, etc.

Steps to the Perfect Sip

This Raspberry Dream is simple, sweet, and flavorful in every sip! This drink is the perfect combination and popular for good reason. It can be blended in no time, mixed together, and served in minutes. Make a small batch and share with your friends and maybe a taste for your kiddos!

  1. Blend – In a blender, puree the raspberries and sugar together until smooth.
  2. Combine – In a small mixing bowl, combine the half and half and the coconut extract.
  3. Mix together – Fill a large glass that is 16-ounce cup halfway with ice. Then fill ¾ of the way with Dr. Pepper. Add 2 tablespoons of the raspberry mixture, and then 2 tablespoons of the cream mixture.
  4. Serve – Fill the rest of the cup with Dr. Pepper, stir well with a straw or spoon, and enjoy!

Tips for Making Raspberry Soda

Make Swig’s raspberry dream drink just the way you like it in your own home. It is simple to make and actually my preferred taste now! I added a little more coconut flavor and it is delicious! I have the perfect sweetness in my soda and it is by far less expensive than the drive-by-drink shop.

  • Berries – You can mix up this recipe even more by using strawberries, blueberries, or blackberries instead of raspberries.
  • Mixture – You can also vary the taste by experimenting with different amounts of fruit and cream and using different sodas.
  • Mountain Dew – Some other mixes I want to try are Mountain Dew with mango and Diet Coke with pomegranate. The possibilities are endless!

Add-Ins

You don’t need to go to a specialty shop to find delicious add-ins for your sodas. I find all kinds of yummy things right at the grocery store! Here are some ideas:

  • Coffee creamers – I like to use coconut cream, peppermint, chocolate mocha or vanilla cream.
  • Syrups – there are all kinds of syrups to try: vanilla syrup, butterscotch syrup, cherry, raspberry, coconut, peach cream soda, cotton candy, etc. I like the Torani brand – you can find them on-line or occasionally at your regular grocery stores. They’ll last forever too!
  • Fresh fruit – fresh lime juice, peaches, berries, or a mixture of any of your favorites make delicious drink concoctions.
  • Splash of heavy cream

Swig Cookies

If you give a mouse a drink, he’ll want a cookie to go with it. However, if you give me a Raspberry Dream, I’ll want a Swig Sugar Cookie to go with it! I couldn’t possibly give you guys Swig copycat recipes unless I was ready to serve up the Swig Sugar Cookie Recipe too! We also dreamed up three other variations of the original sugar cookie treats that are just as soft and delicious as the original! Make sure to give them all a try.

“I love this! I like to add a couple of lime slices to mine. Heaven. ❤️

Hadn’t heard of Swig’s before, sounds like a place to be on the lookout for if I’m traveling out that way. Tasty recipe, I bet our son would like this…likes to get fancy drinks when we go out to dinner!

  3. The recipe won’t pull up. Did you take it off? This is my favorite drink and I would LOVE to make it at home. We don’t have a swig within 2-3 hours.

  4. Raspberry dream w/ coke is my FAVORITE! I am going to have an italian soda/swig bar for my Birthday party in a couple weeks, this will be very useful! I also saw your post about all the different cookies. I can’t wait to try them all!

    1. I think most of Swig’s Dr. Pepper recipes can be switched out for Diet Coke, which you can find caffeine free 🙂

      1. You can also find caffeine free Dr. Pepper in some stores and it tastes just the same as the caffeinated version.
