The Secret’s in the Cream Cheese

The cream cheese and ranch mixture is the perfect base for your veggie pizza. We have also used Kroger Greek Cream Cheese & Greek Yogurt for this cold veggie pizza recipe – it has TWICE the protein and HALF the fat of regular cream cheese. You can get the Kroger Greek Cream Cheese & Greek Yogurt both in a brick and in a whipped tub. We used the brick for this recipe, but if you are looking for a lighter, more airy texture, try the whipped. Spread in an even layer all over the baked crust. It’s so delicious I also love using the whipped spread on crackers and bagels.

Additional Ideas for Crescent Roll Veggie Pizza

  • This is a great recipe for getting your kids involved in the kitchen. My kids love picking out the vegetables for their own pizzas. I put a bunch of vibrantly colored veggies in bowls on the kitchen island and let them go crazy!
  • We have made them “Mexi-style” by adding salsa over the cream cheese mixture and then adding avocado and olives (and leaving out the broccoli and cucumber). That is actually my husband’s favorite way of making this.
  • You can also make it “California Roll” style by just adding cucumber, avocado, and carrots (you can add a little crab meat too, but then they are no longer “veggie” squares). Get creative and make it your own!
  • Make it extra fun for kids to eat by using a cookie cutter to cut out the pieces on a sheet pan. I don’t know about your kids, but make it “heart-shaped” and they will eat just about anything!

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this recipe require homemade pizza dough?

Nope! Most store-bought crescent roll dough works great for this pizza crust, so it’s easy and a store-bought dough it still has great flavor.

Is Veggie pizza vegan?

Veggie pizza is vegetarian but it is not vegan because of the cream cheese and ranch dressing used in the recipe. If you want to make a vegetarian pizza recipe, you could use a vegan cream cheese alternative or just use traditional pizza sauce.

Is it best to eat veggie pizza cold or warm?

This recipe is more of a cold veggie pizza appetizer as you don’t put on the cream cheese or sprinkle the veggies on until after the crust cools on the pan. I do find that the leftover pizza slices taste great straight from the fridge.

This is an original from Pampered Chef that I’ve loved since I first tried it in the early 2000’s. Super easy & quite versatile. Adding in some Garlic & Herb Boursin cheese gives it a little pizazz too. Their Taffy Apple Pizza is really good and is a sweet pairing with this appetizer.

I sometimes want these over regular pizza! They are fresh & tasty! We’ve tried all kinds of veggies on them!

    1. If you cut the veggie squares 8 rows by 4 rows, there are approximately 90 calories per square. Thanks for asking!

  3. In the accompanying article you said you used Greek yogurt, but in the recipe it specifies ranch dressing. I’d much rather use yogurt. How much would you recommend?
    Thanks!

    1. The Greek Yogurt Cream Cheese is not a substitute for the ranch dressing. It is used in place of regular cream cheese. There are Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressings that can be used to replace the ranch dressing. Bolthouse Farms is my favorite brand to use. Just use 1/4 – 1/2 cup like it calls for in the recipe. Thanks for asking!

      1. She is asking you what kind of Greek yogurt was used and how much. You told her about Greek Yogurt Ranch Dressing. I want to know the same thing; how much yogurt do you use. We know that the cream chees is not a substitute for the ranch dressing/ we want to use the Greek yogurt. Can you answer this question?

        1. I didn’t use Greek yogurt, I used a Greek yogurt cream cheese. It can be substituted 1:1.

Actually just shredded cheese on top is delicious. No need to melt. Been making this for 20 years. Also I use creme cheese, mayo and packaged ranch dressing mix. If you use ranch dressing it is to thin and runny.

I just made these for a lunch playdate and they are fantastic. OMG so yummy. I used regular cream cheese since that’s what I had on hand. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for a great idea. My kids eat veggies pretty good (luckily), so I know they will love this. I’m hoping to make these today. I think I will sprinkle a tiny bit of cheese on top and pop back into the oven for a few minutes to melt.
