Chocolate Bird Nests

These Chocolate Bird Nests are a favorite for Easter in our family. My kids love helping to make the little nests and adding little chocolate eggs to the middle.

Ingredients

Coconut Grass (optional)

  • 1 cup coconut
  • 3 drops green food coloring

Easter Candy Egg Options

  • 1 bag Cadbury Mini Eggs

Instructions

  • In a glass bowl, microwave chocolate chips for 1 minute on 70% power. Stir. Microwave for 15 second intervals, stirring between each one, until chocolate is smooth.
  • Stir in peanut butter.
  • Add noodles and mix until coated.
  • Put a sheet of wax paper onto a cookie sheet.
  • Form nests with the noodle mixture and place on wax paper.
  • Refrigerate until chocolate is set.
  • When nests are set, fill them with coconut grass and your favorite Easter egg candies.

Coconut Grass (optional)

  • Place the coconut in a small bowl. Add 3 drops of green food coloring and stir until the coconut is all green.
  • Sprinkle a little coconut on each nest before adding candy eggs.

Notes

There are a lot of ways to make this chocolate bird nests recipe your own. You don't have to use the white Cadbury Mini Eggs. You can use the pastel colored Cadbury Mini Eggs. Try one of the candies listed below. You can also dye the coconut different colors to switch things up!
