Equipment

  • 1 serving board

Ingredients

  • 1 head of garlic
  • olive oil
  • 16 ounces butter room temperature, use a good brand of butter like Kerrygold
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • zest of one lemon
  • 4 figs quartered
  • 1/4 cup fig butter or fig jam
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • fresh rosemary
  • bread for serving

Instructions

  • To roast the garlic - cut the top of the head of garlic off. Place on a sheet of tin foil and drizzle generously with olive oil. Wrap tightly and place in the oven at 400 for 40 minutes.

  • Spread butter onto the serving board. Sprinkle with salt and lemon zest.

  • Place fig quarters, fig butter, and roasted garlic on the board.

  • Sprinkle rosemary over the board.

  • Drizzle honey over the board.

  • Serve with bread slices.

Notes

  • Use hot honey for a little extra kick.
  • You can use orange zest instead of lemon zest if desired. 
  • Sourdough bread is my favorite bread to use, but you can use any crusty bread.
  • Use parchment paper under your butter for easy clean up.
