Grilled Ham Steaks

These Grilled Ham Steaks are perfect for if you are craving cooked ham but don’t want to purchase a huge spiral ham. The sweet teriyaki glaze is tangy and delicious and super easy to make. You will love the little pieces of pineapple mixed in to every bite!

  • Turn barbecue grill burners on high with the lid down to heat up.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch with 2 Tablespoons cold water. Set aside.

  • In a small sauce pan over medium heat, mix together the teriyaki sauce, brown sugar, and crushed pineapple.

  • Whisk the mixture into your saucepan over the stove. Bring the sauce to a boil, then remove from heat when it begins to thicken.
    Pan with thickened teriyaki sauce.
  • Place ham steaks on grill. They only need a few minutes on each side, just long enough to make nice grill marks. Glaze each side before turning with the teriyaki mixture.

  • Remove from the grill to a serving plate and top with the remaining sauce.
    Plate with three whole sweet teriyaki ham steaks. Sliced pineapple on the side.

Notes

Cook on the Stove Top

Another way to cook these steaks is cooking on the stove top in a frying pan. You can melt butter in the pan and place the pre-cooked steaks on medium heat, flipping it after a few minutes on each side. 
What to Serve with Ham Steaks
  • Serve as a main dish for breakfast with some scrambled eggs and a side of biscuits and gravy.
