Dipped Pretzel Rods

These Chocolate Dipped Pretzel Rods are a simple and yummy treat with a perfect sweet and salt combination. Easy to make with only three ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 32 pretzel rods
  • 10 ounces Ghirardelli Melting wafers milk chocolate
  • 10 ounces Ghirardelli Melting wafers white cholocate
  • marshmallow bits (optional)
  • mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • mini MnM's (optional)

Instructions

  • Line a cookie sheet pan with parchment or wax paper.

  • Place melting wafers into a microwave safe bowl.

  • Follow package instructions for melting to a smooth consistency.
    Spoon dripping melted milk chocolate into a bowl.
  • Hold one end of the pretzel rod and let the other end rest in the bowl of melted chocolate. Using a spoon, pour chocolate 2-3 inches from the top onto all sides of the pretzel. Allow excess to cover the pretzel rod as it drips down into the bowl.

  • Lift from the bowl and allow the excess chocolate to drip into the bowl.

  • Place pretzel rod on the parchment paper and place toppings while the chocolate is still wet.

  • For a squiggle line on top, place melted chocolate in a piping bag or ziplock back, cut a small opening and make a squiggle line on top.

  • Allow to dry completely and store in an air tight container.

Notes

Ways to Melt Chocolate:
  • Pour your chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl and heat it in the microwave about 20-30 second intervals. Take time to stir in between each interval, until it's melted and smooth. Be careful not to overheat the chocolate.
  • Use a double boiler to melt the chocolate on the stovetop. Fill the bottom pot with water and bring to a low boil; then place the chocolate in a heat-proof bowl, and melt, stirring frequently.
  • Melt in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly.
