- 1 cup long-grain white rice
- 1 tablespoon vegetable or avocado oil
- 3 tablespoons yellow onion finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
Add the rice, oil, onion, garlic, salt, cumin, chili powder, tomato sauce, and chicken broth directly to the rice cooker.
Stir everything together so the rice and seasonings are evenly distributed.
Close the lid and cook using the regular White Rice setting.
When the rice cooker switches to warm, leave the lid closed and let the rice rest for about 10 minutes.
Fluff the rice gently with a rice paddle or fork, then stir in the chopped cilantro and serve.
