Ground Beef Tacos
When Taco Tuesday rolls around, these ground beef tacos are what we make most often. It's the classic taco recipe that our family has been making for generations!

Taco Seasoning
- 1/4 cup mild chili powder
- 2 tablespoons cumin
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/2 tablespoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 tablespoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes optional
For Taco Meat
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2/3 cups water
- 6 taco shells

Mix taco seasoning ingredients together. This makes about 1/2 cup of seasoning. You will only use 3 tablespoons of the mix and you can save the rest for later. It has a shelf life of about a year.
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef. Drain off excess grease.
Add 3 tablespoons of taco seasoning and 2/3 cup water. Stir to combine and simmer for 5 minutes.
Add ground beef to taco shells.
Top with your favorite taco toppings and serve.
- Try adding some chopped onion to the ground beef for even more flavor.
- Sneak in some veggies by adding shredded zucchini or carrot to the beef while browning.
