Notes

Add a splash of vanilla – if you love that vanilla flavor stir it in after melting the marshmallows, but before adding the cereal.
Use fresh ingredients – Fresh marshmallows and cereal make a big difference in texture.
Microwave in short bursts – Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, and stop as soon as the mixture is just melted.
Pick the right bowl – Use a large microwave-safe bowl to prevent overflow and make mixing easier.
Grease your tools – Lightly coat your hands or spatula with cooking spray to avoid sticking.
Work fast – Stir in the cereal and press into the pan quickly before the mixture sets.
Press evenly – Gently but firmly press the mixture into the pan for chewy, even bars.
Cool before cutting – Let the treats rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes to hold their shape.
