Russian Dressing Recipe

This Homemade Russian Dressing is creamy, tangy, and so much better than store-bought. Use it on Reuben sandwiches, burgers, salads, wraps, or as a dip for fries and veggies.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons dill pickles chopped

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients, except chopped pickles, in a blender. Blend until smooth.

  • Pour into a medium sized bowl and stir in the chopped pickles. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours to set up.

Notes

  • Use thick ketchup-style chili sauce, not thin spicy chili sauce.
  • Stir in the pickles after blending so the dressing keeps a little texture.
  • Chill for at least 3 hours for the best flavor and texture.
  • Add horseradish or hot sauce if you want more zip.
  • Ketchup can be used instead of chili sauce, but add a small splash of vinegar to balance the sweetness.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  • Freezing is not recommended because the mayonnaise base can separate.
