This is an AWESOME recipe that came from my great-grandpa, which was passed down to my mom, which she passed down to us. When my mom was in college she would go over to his house and he would make these pork chops for her. When he made it for her, he used 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup instead of one can of cream of chicken and one can of cream of mushroom. I like it with the cream of chicken because it adds a bit of a brighter dimension but it is great either way! It is ridiculously easy and takes less than 5 minutes of actual prep time… but it tastes like you spent hours in the kitchen! The gravy is to die for! With only 4 ingredients and hardly any prep time.. you can’t go wrong. Your family is going to love this recipe– mine does!

Easy Crock-Pot Pork Chops

Ingredients

  • 6-8 thinly sliced pork chops (you can usually buy them already cut thin)
  • 1 pkg. Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing powder
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup

Instructions

  • Spray slow cooker with cooking spray.
  • Add pork chops.
  • Sprinkle ranch dressing powder evenly over the pork.
  • Add soups and cook on low heat for 6-8 hours (or high heat for about 3-4 hours).
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or rice.

  1. We had this the other night and really liked it. I forgot to spray the crockpot but it didn’t matter – no sticking. Served over brown rice. Also, the pork chops were so moist, they literally fell apart. Wonderful, easy dish that I didn’t have to write down to remember. Thanks for a great recipe!

    • I had the same problem, the pork chops were really moist but too salty. Anybody have ideas how to fix that?

      • Put one whole peeled potato in crockpot , it soaks up salt.when done cooking just throw away or add butter and make mashed potatoes with it

    • I added a tsp. of sugar to cut the salty taste. It didn’t make it sweet, just cut the salt a little. Tasted great! I used the sugar the second time I made them.

  2. Just put this in the crockpot! I only had thick, frozen chops, but I followed your directions anyway! Let’s see how this goes……..

    • At the butcher they are just called boneless thin porkchops. Ask your butcher, I’m sure he will know what you’re talking about.

  3. I don’t have the powdered ranch dressing. Would some regular
    Hidden valley ranch dressing be ok to substitute?

    • I wouldn’t recommend it.. it would be adding a lot of added far, plus it might make it taste funny. There are recipes out there for powdered ranch dressing, I would recommend making your own powdered ranch before using bottled ranch.

  4. So I only have 1 can if cream of chicken can I do 1/2- 1 can if water instead of the other can if cream of mushrooms?

  5. I just realized the I bought the hidden valley ranch dip instead of dressing this should still work right! I hope so because I did put it together and is cooking!

    • I also bot the HV ranch dried seasoning for dips – will it be ok? I just put it in crockpot. Answers pls ASAP. Feeling worried!!

      • It should be ok! I haven’t tried it that way but I don’t think the two seasoning packets are all that different.

        • I have 3 bone in chops only should I only use 1 can of cream of mushroom? I’m trying it w cream of mushroom only this time! Maybe some milk or broth?

          • Yeah you could do that… I would probably do a little milk with some chicken bouillon added.. that way it won’t get too watery hopefully

  7. For Erin who her husband hates cresm of mushroom, I bet cream of celery would be a good substitute. We’ll have to experiment. I will definitely try the original recipe first- sounds super easy.

  9. The pork chops turned out wonderful. They were a little salty, but we limit our salt. I also made brown rice. It was awesome this will be on the menu often. I may use half of the ranch next time just to see if it is less salty. Either way I will make often. Thank you loved it!

  10. Our’s turned out Awesome! I did not have to use the whole packet; just used the ranch powder as if i were seasoning a steak on the grill and it turned out perfect. This recipe will most definitely be a keeper in our house.

  11. My pork chops always turn out dry and tough when cooked normally–even with very thick chops. Just wondering if thin, boneless chops can take 8 hours in crock pot and not be overlooked and tough?

  13. I have a recipe similar to this that uses cream of celery soup. It is in the skillet and you pour it over Rice, my kids always loved it.. I am going to try this in the crock pot. Would be so much easier.. Mine didn’t call for the ranch dressing either. Can’t wait to try it… :)

  15. I’ve got thin pork chops and they are in the freezer right now. If I were to take them out in 1/2 an hour and let them defrost a little bit. would it be ok to put it on medium for about 5 hours?

  16. I saw this recipe Tuesday while searching for a new way to cook the pork chops that were sitting in my fridge. Needless to say I went home at lunch and threw this together it in the crock pot. My husband and I had it over rice and it was delicious. The pork chops literally fell apart. I think next time I will add in fresh mushrooms and cut back on the ranch because it was a bit salty. For the people who thinks its too salty,are you guys putting in the soup with an additional can of water or milk on top of it because that can be the problem ,alot of people dont realize when buying soup that on top of the can of soup your suppose to add a full can of water or milk this applys to most cream of whatever soups and mostly campbells chicken noodle.

    • For this recipe you actually don’t add any milk but you are welcome to! Also getting low-sodium “cream of” soups helps with the saltiness.

  20. Tried this recipe tonight. It’s good. After looking at the reviews, I only added approx. 3/4 of the ranch packet and a tsp of sugar….not salty at all. I used regular soups, not low sodium. Also added the frozen peas the last hour……GREAT addition. Adds an additional “crunch” to the meal. I will add this to my rotation of meals!

  23. Could you also cut up some potatoes and add in instead of rice or mashed potatoes? If so, would I need a liquid like chicken broth, milk, or water? Ty for any feedback :)

  24. i am cooking 4 chops with cream mushroom soup.have a double crock.then i am putting red potatos,onions, carrot ,celery on other side.hope it turns out great.an use part of ranch.thank you

  25. Wow. I made this tonight. I substituted country style ribs and accidentally bought the ranch dip. I just sprinkled a bit on top and added the soups. Cooked for 6 hours on high. Made mashed potatoes and honey glazed carrots. What an awesome tasting meal for a cold winter night. Definitely guest cooking worthy!

  26. We made this using thicker/boneless chops and cooked for 8 hours on low. The meat fell apart. My son called it a pork smoothie. We did not eat any of it.

    • Yikes! I have never had that happen before. Not even close. Does your crock pot cook hot? Mayeb try it for just 4-5 hours on your low setting

  31. I just put this in my crockpot (before I read the reviews and used the whole package of ranch mix :-/). I also used 4 THICK bone-in pork chops. How long should I cook it and should it be on low or high? Thanks for your help – can’t wait to see how it comes out. Super easy is my cup of tea when it comes to cooking – thanks for sharing!

    • You should probably be fine.. maybe just cook it an hour longer is all. I use a full packet of ranch mix and I think it is great ;)

  33. wow. WOOOOOW. i decided to cook chop in the slow cooker but had no clue what else to use. i tweeter a gal who’s a cook and she suggested i search a recipe, which i did. it led me HERE. *HEART EYES*
    i made this recipe today and luvd it.
    instead of cream of mushroom (bleeeck, the devil’s work!!), i used 1 cream of chicken and mushroom (very mild, not bad at all!) and 1 cream of celery, and also added half a chopped onion, 1 chopped orange bell pepper, and some fresh cilantro. the bell gave it some sweet flavor and the cilantro herbed it up, so nicely! just delicious all around, creamy, tender! perrrrrrrrrfection. i will continue to make this for years to come…

    • I have never used those before so I don’t know how it would alter the taste. If you try it, let me know how it turns out!

  34. Ive got this in the crockpot right biw with 7 boneless thin pork chops. Followed directions above and just wanted a change on pork chops. I hope thus turns out good cause hunny is on his way from a 7 day hitch I hope he loves this. I got laundry to get done and thought this would be a yummy dinner while I get some stuff done. Along with an 8 year old and a 4 month old too. I hope it taste as good as it sounds.

  35. Going to try this tonite using all the suggestions above. However, will use “Golden Mushroon” soup instead. Much better color and taste! My son hates mushrooms so I dump the can in a bowl add just enough water or milk to thin it out and run it thru a sieve to remove the mushrooms. I don’t use regular cream of mushroom anymore! BLICK

  36. I’ve made this using Dry onion soup mix instead of the dry Ranch dressing. No water-just the dry mix-1 package or half. Yummy and delicious! :)

    • The dip is a little different. For the best results you will want the dressing mix. If you try it, let us know how it turns out!

  37. Had two grandsons for a week, and tried this (because it was so easy). Smelled great. But, even though I cooked it on low, there was hardly any gravy, the chops were too tough, and the bottom of my crockpot was burnt. This pot has never done this before. Followed the recipe exactly. Any clue what could’ve gone wrong?

    • That is way crazy, I have made this SO many times and that has never happened. There should be lots of gravy. How long did you cook it for? How old is your slow cooker and what size is it? I have no idea why it would have ended up that way.

  38. I just made this meal tonight for my mother-in-law’s birthday. No pressure right?:) and it was delicious…I pretty much followed the recipe except for putting half package of the dressing powder because you can always add salt but cannot take it out and added frozen peas that someone in the previous comments mentioned and it turned just great!
