This is our non-alcoholic version of a Tequila Sunrise. Since there is no tequila or tequila flavoring in it we decided to change the name to “Pomegranate Sunrise”. It has been so hot here these last few weeks, we have been trying to come up with new summer drinks to help keep us cool. This has become a new favorite!

This Pomegranate Sunrise drink is so pretty. In addition, it is easy to make and tastes DELICIOUS! This is great one to make with friends for a summer dinner party or barbecue, or even just for yourself after a long day of work or chasing kids around. It is a delicious way to refresh and indulge a little bit!

Pomegranate Sunrise Drink Ingredients

Only three ingredients are all it takes to make this delicious non-alcoholic drink. Make it for a fancy celebration or a bbq get-together. It is a sweet and delicious beverage everyone loves!

  • Sprite – This is a lemon-lime drink that is a clear, see-through drink. It has a hint of fruitiness and is very sweet. It has a clean tasting and fizzy after taste.
  • Fresh Orange Juice – Full of healthy nutrients, this refreshing juice is sweet and delicious.
  • Grenadine syrup – You can find a bottle of grenadine syrup near the beverage or coffee aisle of your grocery store. It is a deep red color.

How to make a Pomegranate Sunrise Drink

For this non-alcoholic cocktail, you will want to pour it carefully into a glass cup. It is stored in the fridge and ice cubes are added to keep it chilled. The mixture is perfect for doubling or making a large pitcher!

  1. Prepare – Fill each 12-ounce glass half-full with ice.
  2. Mix – Fill the glass about ⅓ full of Sprite (about 3 ounces) and fill the rest of the way with orange juice (6 ounces).
  3. Stir together – Stir gently to combine. Add a splash of Grenadine syrup and serve!
  4. Garnish –Top with oranges slices or cherries (makes approximately six 12-ounce glasses).

“So Pretty I made this for myself and all of my kids wanted one they LOVED it as well it looks JUST like the picture and is super good!”

Frequently Asked Questions

What is grenadine syrup?

Grenadine syrup is made from pomegranate juice and also has a citrus component, usually orange or lemon juice. It has a tart, yet sweet flavor, and adds a splash of color.

The deep red color of grenadine syrup gives popular drinks, like the Tequila Sunrise and the Shirley Temple, their beautiful, rosy hues. Grenadine syrup can be found in most grocery stores in the drink mixers section.

Is grenadine syrup alcoholic?

No. Grenadine is a non-alcoholic syrup that contains cherry and pomegranate juice. It is a simple syrup that is used in several varieties of drinks. The most popular one is a Sherly Temple.

What flavor is grenadine?

It originates from pomegranate juice which is how it got its name. Grenadine is a french word for pomegranate. The three main ingredients are sugar, lemon juice, and pomegranate. It is a tart and sweet balance.
