Mix together an equal amount of ingredients and get ready to invite over all the guests to enjoy this delicious crock pot Chex mix treat! It is loaded with flavor and quick and easy to make. Keep all the cereal, nuts, crackers, and sauces on hand to make this over and over again!

  • Chex Cereal – I used a mix of Rice Chex, Corn Chex, and Honey Nut Chex. However, you can use whatever cereal mixture you’d like in your crockpot chex mix recipe.
  • Pretzels – To make the size of everything more uniform, I use mini pretzel twists. You can also use mini pretzel sticks.
  • Mixed Nuts – The mix I use has peanuts, almonds, cashews, and walnuts. If you have a nut allergy, then you can leave these out. Just add another cup of another ingredient to make up for it.
  • Cheez Its – These cheese crackers add such a yummy flavor to the mix.
  • Sauce – Flavor your slow-cooker Chex party mix with a mixture of Worcestershire sauce, melted butter, seasoned salt, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Sometimes it is cheaper to buy snacks than to make your homemade Chex mix. However, with this recipe, you can make more compared to a bag of Chex mix, control what seasonings ingredients are going into the mix as well as store the Chex mix for a longer period of time. Notes

  • If your crockpot lid doesn’t have a hole to let air out, place paper towels or a dish towel under the lid to absorb the condensation. Technically, this isn’t recommended since it is a fire hazard, but I have never had an issue with it. Without a towel, the Chex Mix will get soggy.
  • Let the mix cool completely to room temperature before serving or storing.
  • Chex Mix makes a great neighbor gift during the holidays!

  1. I made the crackpot chex mix, followed directions to a tee, but had some scorched spots. Tasted a little over cooked. What could I do different. Thank you.

    1. I am sorry you had scorched spots! Some crockpots have hot spots and cook quicker in places. To remedy this, you can stir more frequently to make sure the mix doesn’t stay in one spot too long.

  2. Sorry, this burns quickly ! Followed the instructions to the T. Stopped the cooking process halfway thru when it started burning. Will not try again. Gonna go back to old fashion way … the oven.
