These Easter Cadbury Egg Cookies take chocolate chip cookies to a whole new level! There is rich and creamy chocolate goodness in every bite.

Cadbury Mini Eggs
Ahh! The anticipation of walking into the grocery store after Valentine’s Day and seeing those dark purple Cadbury Mini Egg bags lining the shelves. They are irresistible, and my very favorite Easter candy. A few bags go in into my cart with the thought that I better buy them now before they sell out. Of course, I will save them until just before Easter.
I get home and hide them high in a cupboard. But, the willpower to not open the bag and have just one weakens. I pop one in my mouth. I carefully crack off the outside layer. Then, I just let the smooth chocolate flavor melt on my tongue. The milk chocolate is so creamy. I will eat just one more. But, that turns into another and then another. Can you see where this is going? Pretty soon, the whole bag is gone!

Cadbury Mini Egg Cookies
The self-discipline to not eat them all only comes from the desire to make these delicious cookies. The love of Cadbury Mini Eggs is shared by the whole family, and we have Elise to thank for creating this cookie recipe. You can’t go wrong adding Cadbury Mini Eggs to anything in my opinion and these cookies are no exception! They really take an ordinary chocolate chip cookie recipe to another level. We love to eat them warm, chewy, and melty out of the oven. They’re also yummy when you chill them in the fridge or freezer and eat them cold. In short, there’s no wrong way, time or place to eat these cookies!
Mixing candy in cookie dough it one of my favorite ways to elevate an ordinary cookie. Try these rich Reese’s Pieces Cookies, our Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Cookies, or the big brother to the mini egg: the Cadbury Cream Egg Stuffed Cookies

Variations to these Cadbury Egg Cookies
- You can add chopped Cadbury Mini Eggs into the dough as you are forming the cookie dough balls and have little hidden surprises on each cookie.
- Or, use a medium cookie scoop to form the cookie dough into balls and drop them on a prepared baking sheet with baking spray or lined with parchment paper. Then place the mini eggs on top. This makes the cookies more colorful and festive, as pictured.
- Or, heck, do both! Mix some chopped up candies into the dough using a stand mixer. Then add a few more on top.
- Add a quarter cup of cocoa powder to the cookie dough for an extra chocolatey and gooey cookie.

Maybe something went wrong, but we are disappointed. Too much like short bread. Kids don’t even like it, just eating the eggs out of it. I don’t want to eat them either, which is crazy since my family smashes through all our baked goods. It’s been 2 days and we haven’t even made a dent in the quantity and I have batter left in the fridge, that I don’t really even want to make
I am so sorry that this recipe didn’t turn out. We test our recipes in Utah and Idaho, so sometimes the elevation can make a difference. We will add a note in the recipe for high and low elevation adjustments.
Looking forward to making these. Can I pre make the batter, refrigerate and bake the following day?
Yes!
These cookies are so soft and chewy! Everyone loves them, and they are a great dessert to make with the kiddos! 🙂
Cadbury eggs are my favorite! These cookies were a huge hit over here. My kids had a ton of fun making them! Thank you for the recipe.
I didn’t think I could love Cadbury eggs more, but you proved me wrong. These cookies are the bomb! I’m going to have to stock up on Cadbury eggs so I can make them all year long. 🙂
These came out delicious! I made them for a family event and everyone raved about them.
Do these cookies freeze well?
I think they would!
These cookies are amazing! I did lessen the sugar to 1/2 cup instead of 3/4cup. And it tasted great. I could even lessen the sugar a bit more next time. I also incorporated the mini eggs into the batter 🙂
I made this recipe for Easter! The chocolate chips cookie recipe ever! Thanks:)
Was your butter cold or room temp? Thanks !
Room temp!
Pretty great Easter cookie recipe! I would recommend maybe a bit less flour as mine came out like a shortbread cookie rather than a moist chocolate chip cookie. Though it was still really great and didn’t even last a day in the house.
This recipe was not great, dry and cakey and followed everything to a T ensuring not to over beat or over bake.
Also the mini eggs loose their flavour when baked in the oven for some reason, would maybe find a way to put them on after?
Sorry this recipe did not work out for you! Cookie recipes can be tricky because a lot of it depends on altitude, oven type, and brand of ingredients. We hope you’ll give some of our other recipes a try!
Made these today and they are yummy! Very sweet. Cut the flour by about 1/4-1/2 cup as per another reviewers recommendation and the cookies were buttery and not dry, they flatten quite a bit and brown on the edges for a crunchy edge, chewy middle. 1-3 mini eggs per cookie is plenty.
These cookie were tasty, but really, really dry. I would almost cut the flour in half if you want a more moist cookie. Also, you probably get closer to 30 cookies, and HAVE to cook them about 15 mins, not the initial 8-9 as stated in the recipe!
I got a whopping 68 cookies!!! Some are smaller and some are bigger, cooked between 6 and 7 minutes. Not dry at all
The cookies look so cute and perfect for the occasion. It will be a hit among kids for sure.
These are so delicious and love the addition of Cadbury eggs in them.
Cabury egg cookies we can enjoy any days. My kids will love it, This cookie is best not only during Easter any time of year.
These cookies are fabulous! The only downfall is not being able to get the Cadbury eggs year round!
These cookies are very good, but you can’t get 5mini eggs on one tsp of dough. Also, I bought 2x10oz packages of eggs and used every one -3 to a cookie!
What kind of mixer is that? I love it and want one!! Not as cumbersome as my kitchenaid, and I love that you can use it without the lid. Anyone know who makes it??
YES! We LOVE this mixer, it is called a Bosch Mixer and you can find it right here: https://amzn.to/2R3b66a
I liked this recipe but I found the cookies were a bit dry. So I added way more chocolate chip cookies.
I was also able to make 60 plus cookies with this exact recipe
How many cookies does this make?
How festive!
