- The whole recipe is only 260 calories, so you can feel good about putting it in your body and sharing it with your kids.
- If you want to make this detox smoothie even more filling and sustaining, you can add a little bit of vanilla protein powder. Just be aware that it will also change your calorie total.

This looks delicious. What could I substitute for the pineapple l since I am allergic to it? Also, allergic to kiwi and cantalope. Just in case, you want to suggest one of them.
You could do strawberries, it just won’t have the same color but will still taste great.
Delicious! I substituted “frozen riced cauliflower ” for the ice. The cauliflower helps thicken it and you dont taste it. For those allergic to bananas, you could substitute with frozen chickpeas. They help thicken and are similar in flavor when mixed in a smoothie. Chickpea also provides potassium.
Thanks for the great recipe.!
Great suggestions! Thank you!
I really liked it. I added some frozen peaches, blueberries and oats to it. It make 2 glasses. Nice and refreshing and filling.

This smoothie is delicious! Even my kids love it.
I haven’t tried honey Greek yogurt in smoothies but I need to!
Hi ladies, mine came out very runny, is this common, n if so how can I make it thicker? If not supposed to be, ideas on what I could have possibly done incorrectly? Thanks for sharing all your great ideas!
That’s weird, I haven’t had one come out that way. Maybe try freezing the fruit first or using frozen fruit.
Hi Emily, I am going to make this tomorrow if I can get a perfect pineapple at Whole Foods today. Thank you for all of your recipes. I print a lot of them and then make them based on your picture and what you have to say about the recipe.
After I click the PRINT RECIPE button the ad that is on the recipe before I click that button, shows up on my printed recipe with no option to remove it before printing. This forces me to waste ink. Can you prevent ads from showing up on the recipes that I print from your blog? Thank you.
Thanks Dezi! We are working on taking the ad off when you print the recipe. I’m sorry! It was off, then we had some kind of glitch. Our tech support is on it. Thank you for your patience!
Good morning. I made this smoothie this morning. The only thing different I did, was I used shredded carrots and I used 1 tablespoon of vanilla bean yogurt and 1 tablespoon of raw honey.
Its absolutely delicious
This is a delicious detox!! A+
How often do you drink this and could you omit the banana I am allergic for something else that work as well. Thanks
You can drink this as often as you would like – I like to drink it for breakfast. Sometimes, if I haven’t had the best eating day and want something light and healthy, I will drink it for dinner. My first choice for a substitute for the banana would be frozen mango chunks – or fresh if they are in season in your area. Strawberries or raspberries would also be very good.
Hi, what can I substitute for the honey greek yogurt? I don’t think we have that here in where I live.
You can use plain or vanilla yogurt instead of honey greek yogurt. If you use plain yogurt, you may want to add a teaspoon or so of honey to the smoothie for sweetness. Thanks for asking!
