Whether you want to add more healthy fats and protein to your diet, or you happen to have a bunch of leftover dyed Easter eggs in the fridge, we have delicious recipes for you to try! The key to a delicious hard boiled eggs recipe is starting with perfect hard boiled eggs. Our two favorite ways are our Easy-to-Peel Eggs Recipe and our Instant Pot Hard Boiled Eggs. With our recipes you’ll get firm hard-boiled yolks without the greenish ring.

two ways of cooking hard boiled eggs

Basic Hard Boiled Egg Method

  1. Start by adding your large eggs in a single layer to the bottom of a large pot or large saucepan. Make sure they have space around them and they aren’t stacked on each other.
  2. Then, add enough water to the pot to cover the eggs with one to two inches of water. Use cold water – if you use hot water it will mess up the cooking time.
  3. Add salt and baking soda to the pot and then bring the eggs to a boil on the stove over high heat.
  4. As soon as the water starts boiling, reduce the heat to medium and boil for one minute.
  5. After one minute, cover the pot with a lid and remove from the heat.
  6. Then, let the eggs sit, covered, for ten minutes.
  7. While the eggs are sitting, prepare a large bowl of ice water.
  8. When the ten minutes are up, drain some of the water out of the pan, and then use a slotted spoon to transfer the eggs into the ice bath. If you are using the eggs immediately, lightly crack the eggs before adding to the water.
  9. Let the eggs sit in the ice bath until they are cool to the touch. If you are not using them right away, place eggs in the fridge until ready to use.
  10. Peel each cooked egg under cold running water. The trick to peeling the eggs is breaking the membrane. I tap the egg lightly on the counter and then roll it back and forth a few times.

The Sriracha perfectly complements the creaminess of the egg whites and the filling. My family loves deviled eggs, but not everyone likes them spicy. So, I make about half of them spicy and the other half I just sprinkle with a little paprika. That way people who aren’t as fond of spice as I am can still enjoy them.
