These pork chops are thick and juicy when made in the air fryer. The air fryer cooks quickly holding in all the juices inside and giving the outside of the pork chop a nice crisp texture. Slice your pork chops and add some potatoes to make a complete meal in no time!

Why Make Pork Chops in the Air Fryer

For juicy pork chops, you need to make sure the outside is cooked quickly so the juices get trapped inside. This can be done by searing the chops or by cooking them at a higher temperature in the air fryer. By air frying pork chops you eliminate the need for multiple dishes. You can cook them completely from start to finish in the air fryer which makes clean-up a breeze!

Ingredients to Make Air Fryer Pork Chops

Thick, juicy pork chops are ready to season and cook right in the air fryer basket! With these simple ingredients, you will be able to make these air fryer pork chops on those busy weeknights. It is a quick and easy meal that can be made over and over again each week!

  • Pork chops – You can use either type of pork chops, boneless pork chops, or bone-in chops. I prefer using regular or thick-cut pork chops because they don’t dry out as easily. Thin cut may be used but be sure to cook for much less time, checking often.
  • Oil – I used avocado oil for this recipe because it has a higher smoke point but any cooking oil will work great. Olive oil may also be used.
  • Salt – Not much salt is needed because the ranch dressing mix has a good amount of salt.
  • Ranch seasoning mix – I love ranch mix because it is full of flavor and so easy to add! If you don’t have ranch mix or you just want to make ranch seasoning from scratch, simply use the seasonings used in our homemade ranch dressing recipe.
  • Paprika – This gives the pork chops a beautiful color and also a subtle smoky flavor.

How to Make Air Fryer Boneless Pork Chops

In just a few steps you will have the best pork chops ever! We used thick pork chops to prepare and season. These boneless chops are cooked perfectly in the air fryer and served with sweet potato fries and dipped in bbq sauce for extra flavor!

  1. Prepare – Remove pork chops from the packaging and pat dry with a paper towel. Drizzle oil onto each pork chop. Rub oil in with your hands until well covered.
  2. Season – Sprinkle salt onto each side of each pork chop, then do the same with the ranch seasoning and paprika. Rub with hands until all sides of the pork chop are covered in seasoning.
  3. Cook – Air fry at 400 degrees F for 7 minutes.
  4. Check the temperature – Flip pork chops and cook at 375 degrees F for another 7-8 minutes or until an instant-read digital meat thermometer reads 145 degrees F.
  5. Let rest – Allow pork chops to rest for 2-3 minutes before serving.

Get Perfect Pork Chops Every Time

Air fry the pork chops at a higher temperature for the first 6-7 minutes to lock in the juices. Next, flip the pork chops and air fry JUST until you reach 145 degrees F. To do this, check the pork chops every 2-3 minutes until done. Check quickly so the heat doesn’t leave the air fryer too much!

For a Crispy Coating

If you are looking for crispy pork loin chops, you can always add a seasoned crumb coating. To do this, combine the salt, ranch dressing mix, and paprika with a cup of panko breadcrumbs and a half cup of parmesan cheese in a bowl.

Dredge the pork chop in flour, then in egg, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture. Spray with cooking spray before cooking in the air fryer. If you notice the breadcrumbs getting too brown, lightly wrap the chops in foil and continue air frying until done.

How Long to Cook Pork Chops in the Air Fryer

Cooking time varies depending on the thickness of your pork chop. I used a thicker-cut pork chop so I air-fried for a total of 14 minutes. Regular-cut pork chops (about 1″ thick) may only need 10-12 minutes. Thin-cut pork chops may take as little as 8 minutes.

The most important thing to do is check the internal temperature using a digital meat thermometer. For perfect pork chops, no matter the size, remove from the air fryer as soon as you reach 145 degrees F.

What to Serve with Pork Chops

When looking for something to serve with pork chops, you can never go wrong with potatoes, green beans, broccoli, a green salad, or even pasta. Make a complete meal with these delicious side dishes to choose from!

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are my pork chops tough in the air fryer?

Chances are, the pork chops are overcooked. Be sure to only cook to 145 degrees F.

How long do you air fry thin pork chops?

Thin-cut pork chops will take much less time. They may take only 7-8 minutes. Start checking the internal temperature after 6 minutes.

Can you air fry pork chops with bone?

Absolutely! Use the same method as below for bone-in pork chops.

Can you put frozen pork chops in an air fryer?

It is possible but I don’t recommend it. The seasoning won’t stick to the frozen pork chops and they will likely cook unevenly.

Take your pork chops out of the freezer and let them thaw before using them in the air fryer.

Once your pork chops are cooked, let them rest, and you can freeze the pork chops for another meal.

Storing Boneless Pork Chops

We always love good leftovers from dinner! These pork chops can be stored in the refrigerator for three to four days long. When ready to reheat, place the storage container in the microwave or reheat in the air fryer, or oven until warmed through. Make sure not to over cook the pork chops or it will become rubbery.
